I'm exhausted because we've moved. Again. I'm exhausted because I'm in a new job. I'm exhausted because some of my great friends are going through some personal dilemmas. I'm exhausted because the Direct TV people pissed me off today.
But despite all of the exhaustion, I couldn't be happier. Courtney and I have moved, in many respects, "home." Athens, GA, is where we met, where we spent many days getting to know each other better and where we got engaged. I'm working, again, for the university and athletic association I love. Leaving Miami was a difficult decision. We both can honestly say this. It is such a special place, and we were very, very happy there. The lure of home, Georgia and being closer to our family was too much.
And we love our new house. It is smaller in square footage but cost more. Isn't that the way it typically is? We somehow sold our Ohio house in five days. In this market. We are so very fortunate. Returning to Athens was an eventual goal at some point. I'm not positive we'll be here forever, but we always knew it was a place we'd love coming back to at some point. For us to be in a house we love, in Athens is a kick ass feeling.
Courtney has already lined up a teaching job for the fall too! She will be teaching high school chemistry. Um, I didn't take chemistry for a reason. She is just so smart though, I know she'll have those kids eating out of the palm of her hand. AND she is going to be a cheerleading coach. I've been teasing her about this a little, but I really do think it is cool we'll have another "Coach Lowe" in the family.
So I owe some 2007 jaylowe.com awards. I will attempt getting to those this weekend. There is still much unpacking and yard work to be done ... although, there is a water ban in Georgia right now. Maybe that is adding to my exhaustion as well.
I'll fill you all in on more house updates and post photos at some point. I've started toying around with google's Picasa program, so hopefully we'll have a bunch of fun stuff on the site soon.
Time for bed!
