No, no, I've finished all my shopping, so I don't have that to worry about. However, it is the end of the year ... you fans know what that means. Yes, an annual recap and the 2006 jaylowe.com Awards. Well, ok that will actually come next week, but I just realized I haven't even taken a look at the award finalists. Clearly this is something I must do to give the nominees their proper pomp and circumstance. At least I have the plane ride home Friday to review everything. So don't you worry! Just remember to check back here in ONE WEEK for the annual jaylowe.com Awards. The 2006 installment promises to take us to new heights ... or at least to new depths of this web page.
Since the Blue Grass trip, time has just flown by. The little lady and I spent a lovely Thanksgiving with her families in both Flowery Branch and Lawrenceville. The food was great and relaxing for a few days may have been better. We did take in the new Bond flick over that weekend. I thought it was solid. I enjoy the Bond films because you can just watch them and be sucked in. I certainly didn't think it was the best thing in the world, but I did enjoy it.
We returned to Atlanta the very next weekend for the SEC Football Championship Game. Once again, the Georgia Dome did an excellent job with the event. I know, as a Bulldog grad, I'm not supposed to pull for Florida, but I was fine seeing them walk away with the championship. As I've stated before, they've got some great staff. And they are absolutely where they belong, which is in the BCS championship game. Sure, another Michigan/Ohio State game would've been great, but the Wolverines had their shoot. I'm sure Newp and Lil Dub would kick me in the junk for saying that, but hey ... gotta support the conference.
So the little lady and I are splitting up for the Christmas holiday. We figure this will be the last chance we will have to have our holiday family traditions go untarnished. Next year we will probably try and hit all the family. I'm not sure where we'll be on what day, but we've got some time to figure it out. I am excited to see the family and spend some good quality time with them. Sissy and I will have a couple of car rides to catch up, back and forth to the airport. My only wish is that I wouldn't have to get up and catch a 6:30am flight on Friday. Oh well. I suppose I can sleep on the plane.
I wish everyone a wonderful holiday, whatever you celebrate. My family will be enjoying yet another wonderful Christmas together. We are very fortunate, and this is the time of year to appreciate life and everything it has given us. Merry Christmas!
