But if you ask me to set you up on a date with her, I'll probably punch you.
So I did breakdown last Friday and actually used birthday money for its purpose ... which is to buy me something I wouldn't buy myself. Well, now I'm the proud owner of an ipod. This thing is awesome. It is easily the coolest toy I have, next to the big screen. It is kinda sad, but this has actually motivated me to start exercising again. It's like I needed the excuse. Well, at least it is working. I'm trying to get healthy again.
I'm not sure people outside of athletics realize how easy it is for us to have horrible eating habits. Especially those of us working events. By the time you get home from most events, you are too tired to cook and the only thing open is fast food. Not to mention the food you eat at the event, which is typically never good for you. Ugh. And now with my mom's diabetes, I really how important it is to keep an eye on your diet and exercising. So Mom, I'm trying to go everything you suggest. Hopefully it works.
And looking hotter certainly wouldn't be a bad thing either. I mean, if it is humanly possible to look hotter than I do now. Um, right.
This morning I had the first meeting with the new Facilities and Game Events staff. Yes, I am the director, but I'm working with three people whom I feel like can really become important pieces in this new athletic structure. As I told them today, we have the opportunity to be a very dependable staff that others will look to for leadership and guidance. I honestly am excited about the possibilities that could happen with this staff. I think the more we get to know each other, and the more we can depend on each, the more efficient this operation will become.
Well, Commodore baseball has been shipped to lovely Charlottesville, VA, for NCAA regionals. Although it is unfortunate our team can't compete at home this go around, I think being on the road will give them an added spark. There is something to be said for going into a hostile environment and knocking the home team on their ass. Good luck to the Dores this weekend.
I did almost decide to make the trip. Despite the 8-9 hour drive, I would have the opportunity to see the Dores, as well as visit with Greg, who is celebrating his five year reunion from UVA this weekend. NOT TO MENTION, one of my favorite bands of all time, JACKOPIERCE, will be playing there. As much as I'd love to be around all of that, I think it will do me some good to stay at home, listen to the Dores on the radio and relax. Hell, I might even try to play a little golf.
Yes, I am attempting to take up golf. I bought clubs from an old boss last year, and have put them to very little use. It is such an odd game and has to be one of the most frustrating things a person can try. But what the hell. If I plan on being some bigshot AD, I'm going to need to learn how to play. It's amazing how many business deals are completed on the links.
Off to work out and enjoy the rest of my day.
