Boogaloo is doing great and progressing well. Little Mama is too. Courtney's a trooper, which I've been documenting more recently. We've known this little booger was incubating since July, but it finally hit me sitting in that ultrasound room.
We are about to be parents to two children. We are so fortunate Lady A has been a great kid. No health scares so far, she has all her fingers and toes ... still ... and her passion for life and curious nature are wonderful attributes. I hope Boogaloo has similar traits.
But Boogaloo will be his/her own person, and I love that. It has been pure joy watching Lady A develop into this great little human. Boogaloo will do the same. It will be fascinating to see how A will interact with the new child and how the new child will eventually learn, right and wrong, by watching big sister.
Boogaloo is already taking after Dad though, by being difficult. We hoped to find out the gender yesterday. Instead we walked away with this beautiful picture of the kid's spine and butt. Sounds about right.
Can we love #2 as much as Lady A? Absolutely. After three months of it still not seeming totally real, I'm ready for this new little munchkin to come into our lives. The challenges, the exhaustion ... it will all come and go, but we now have an opportunity to provide love and care to another child. We are lucky, and we could not be happier.
