Trapped in the Refrigerator, Chapter III

1/6/2006

The Family

As I mentioned in Chapter I - 2005 jaylowe.com Awards, Dad is recovering well from his surgery. It was good to be back around him and the rest of my family over the holidays. I love December and all of the pomp and circumstance that comes along with the holidays. Family is a big part of that for me. We still try to have a great time over the holiday. Mom wasn't able to get the tree before my sister came home this year, so it was ready for us to decorate when I got home. I had to admit, I was the Christmas Angel this year. I saved Christmas by purchasing a new string of lights for the tree. We took time to place them and when we turned them on, the top strand didn't work. So I saved Christmas. Yep, I did.

Poor goober, my sister, was sick most of the holiday. Poor girl couldn't even enjoy some of the great meals mom prepared. She started feeling better around New Year's, but I'm sure she wished she could've enjoyed more of the holiday. I wish she could've too.

It was great to spend time with them though. Mom still works herself to the bone with whatever she does. Dad is trying to teach himself how to do certain things with his new hip. Sis is anxiously awaiting the next chapter in her life. They are my family, and I love them.
