The Little Woman Arrives
For those of you who have been following the Lowe Down, I've mentioned a young lady I've been seeing. I have always been under the discipline of not mentioning girls I date on the Lowe Down, but this is different. This is a woman who has come back into my life, and for that I am very lucky.
So she came to NC to visit me over the holiday and to also be my lovely date to a wedding on New Year's Eve. The family had met her once before and really liked her, so I figured it would be an easy situation. It really was. Mom bent over backwards to make her feel welcome. Mom is a great host, making cheese and crackers and buying some wine she enjoys. Sis and Dad made her feel very comfortable as well.
We spent some time out on the town, hitting good ole Burke Street with some of the old Wake crew. Bob and Caroline made an appearance, as did Erich. Of course my Wake crew was in full effect, preparing for the big wedding.
The little lady and I spent the rest of the holiday together and had a great time. She mentioned how nice it was to hang out with my friends and family again. She's right. They are all great. When we left Winston for our drive to Atlanta, she hugged Mom and Sis. She told me later she wanted to hug Dad but wasn't sure if he was a hugger. Little did she know that Dad is a big softie. Yes, it is ok to hug Dad.
All in all, we had a great time over the holidays. She is a wonderful person and I'm fortunate to have her back in my life.
